On March 21, 2016, professor Steven R. Nutt, who comes from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, University of Southern California, visited our group. Professor Hongbin Lu briefly introduced our research to professor Nutt, and they further discussed something about future cooperation and program. At 14:30, professor Nutt gave a lecture titled "Defect Control in Composite Fabrication Using Out-of-Autoclave Prepregs". In this lecture, he introduced a new method to prapare PAN-epoxy composites through prepreging without using of autoclave. This method is much convinent and low-cost. Then he explained how fabrication method affect the defects in these composites. Further, he gave some suggesstions to reduce the number of defects. After the lecture, we got some new ideas about the fabrication of polymer composites.
